Off To Visit The Green Fairy — Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic

Jump to the full entry & travel map Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic After a beautiful lunchtime visit to Dresden, we made our way into the Czech Republic, destination Prague! To cross the border from Germany to Czech Republic, you go through a tunnel, where the surroundings on the German side were full of lush greenery, and on the Czech side covered in lily-white snow, amazingly enough. The coach got to learn a bit of Czech history and how to say ‘Dobry Den’, then reached the beautiful city of Prague, with our first visit during the day’s late afternoon being Hradcany, and the beautiful Prague Castle.

The Windsor Chair

I am infinitely in love with Windsor Benches & Chairs.  I love the combination in the pictures below of traditional spindle chairs along side the more dramatic higher backed Windsor chairs.  The bench is what really captures me though.  I would love to ( some day )  have a combination of the dramatic higher backed chairs, traditional spindle chairs and one beautiful Windsor bench, preferably painted in a lovely, punchy color.  Milky Blue perhaps? Ahh a girl can dream!

BloggersUnite for Haiti: Cash Needed For Relief Efforts

From what I’ve read throughout the day cash is desperately needed by the aid organizations heading up relief efforts in Haiti after the devastating earthquake that rocked the small island nation. This cash will be used for everything from medical supplies to food. I found a list of reputable organizations that are taking donations on a Fox news site: -The Red Cross is asking the public to make financial donations to the International Relief Fund by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or online at http://www.redcross.org -Donors may also text “HAITI” to “90999″ and a donation of $10 will be given to the American Red Cross to help with relief efforts

Hard at Work

Welcome to the World of Vintage Posters! In the coming months, we’ll  do our best to share with you some of the things we find interesting.  Right now, we are located in a little cave of an office in a nondescript building in Oakland.  Here, we take pictures, update our website, and plan and pack for our shows.  This will change in 2010, as we move to a new space where we can continue to catalogue and photograph our ever changing collection of original vintage posters, but will also be available to meet with poster collectors, students of graphic design and anyone curious about ephemera. What does a self-described team of poster geeks do all day?
