Mexico country No5, sad to say goodbye to Belize — Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

Jump to the full entry & travel map Playa del Carmen, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico good day today, the traveling all went well. First a boat ride from Lamanai to the dock just outside orange walk town, that was just about an hour on a fast speed boat, and we saw a big crocodile on the way. At the dock our driver Alex from Belize VIP transfers was there waiting for us, so it was a quick transfer of the bags and off we set for Chetumal.

Tilda Swinton Talks ‘I Am Love,’ Jil Sander Wardrobe, and Baring All

Filed under: Fashion , Celebrity , News , Designers & Brands , Celebrity Style Tilda Swinton — seen here with actress Marisa Berenson — is red hot in Jil Sander for “I Am Love.” Photo courtesy of Magnolia Pictures Tilda Swinton ‘s latest star turn is as a wealthy, unfaithful wife in the Italian-language film ” Io Sono L’Amore ” (” I Am Love “), which opened on Friday. Produced by Silvia Venturini Fendi of the famous Fendi family, and with characters dressed by Fendi and Jil Sander ‘s Raf Simons , the film is practically fashion porn. (And for fans of more traditional porn, there’s some of that, too!) Oscar-winner Swinton not only pulls off the whole film in Italian, but her character also requires her to do it with a Russian accent.

Things I’m glad to have not missed, part 2

Next door to Birch Libralato at the Susan Hobbs Gallery, Shirley Wiitasalo shows a suite of new paintings that seem conjured from a half-remembered dream; while obviously abstract, the mind wrestles quietly to extract form from the delicate wash that the eye delivers. Wiitasalo's technique is something obliquely referred to as “transfer,” which to me suggest a careful layering of material and colour to obscure, but not quite, the one that came before
