However, Baillie Scott also managed to produce both textile and wallpaper design work particularly during the two decades that spanned the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century.

Well, I made another skirt. This time I used an awesome vintage green floral print I found at the Knittn’ Kitten (of course). Seriously, locals, if you haven’t been to the Kitten, you are totally missing out.

Nice trend in theory but application needs to be treated with caution, or risk looking like a field of trampled daisies. Source: lookbook.nu I seem to be the only one around hooked on “The City” while the rest of the world fuss over “Glee”. I swear it’s not as trashy as “Laguna Beach” and “The Hills” or even “Gossip Girl”

Jump to the full entry & travel map Ko Phi Phi Don, Thailand Welcome to the final continent on our itinerary, South East Asia. We’ve seen so much on our adventure so far but I have a feeling that South East Asia is still going to be to exceed expectation and bring us new wonders to marvel at. As it has been well documented in the news Thailand has been the scene of some terrible violence, mainly in Bangkok but also in other northern areas we planned to visit first.

DAY TWO Today we went to another town outside of Perth, about 30 minutes away where there is a large warhouse called “The Scottish Antique & Arts Centre” and basically it’s just that. A bunch of people who have collected and sell anitiques send their antiques to this warehouse where several clerks host and sell it for them. It really was brilliant and some of the antiques were over hundreds of years old, that was mostly the oreintal antiques, but there were many other interesting things too such as ivory silverware, real fur coats (which I didn’t enjoy), and even old postcards, some of which had been used and had messages and addresses on the back of them

The massive two-museum blast of Dynasty , an exhibition of 40 artists at the Palais de Tokyo and the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris , is something of a moveable feast of contemporary French art – a collision of dust and Disney with a bit of dinnertime thrown in. The concept, launched by directors Marc-Olivier Wahler and Fabrice Hergott was to invite youngish artists working in France to exhibit two sets of works in each museum. (The two art spaces sit side-by-side looking out towards the Seine River).

No one was beaming more last night than the parents of Philly’s art czar, who has created a silk purse out of a sow’s ear! Irwin and Wilma Steuer, proud parents of Philadelphia Chief Cultural Officer Gary Steuer Irwin and Wilma Steuer were there to cheer for their son Gary, the city’s chief cultural officer, and to admire the The Art Gallery in City Hall, which he has created at a time when the city’s fiscal picture is three degrees worse than dire. We said we thought Steuer was wonderful, a wizard for making this materialize. His parents agreed.

Bambi Gallery , in Northern Liberties’ bustling Piazza, is currently focusing on a rather curious theme: the artistic and symbolic capabilities of everyday trash. Both Kim Alsbrooks and Andrés Alvarez have chosen to use discarded items as the canvas for their works. While these artists have different points to make, each gives the trash an active voice in their works’ statement
